POSITION: Transport/Driver for BARCS Rescue - Edmonton OR Calgary 

COMPENSATION: Volunteer

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Must love dogs; experienced dog handler preferred

• Valid Alberta Driver’s License

• Clean Driver’s Abstract

• Proof of Insurance

• Reference Check 

• Experienced driving a SCHOOL BUS and/or an extended CARGO VAN

• Able to lift heavy crates containing large dogs

• Preferably available all 12 months; available Nov-March is A MUST

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The ideal candidate will

• Volunteer their time once a month to drive a SCHOOL BUS and/or an extended CARGO VAN 

• BARCS Rescue will provide the vehicle, dependent on the number of dogs traveling to Edmonton    

• Round trip drive from Edmonton OR Calgary

• Load the dogs in their crates in Calgary

• Deliver and unload the dogs in their crates in Edmonton

• The trip will be 7+ hours (especially longer in the Winter) 

• The dogs arrive on ANY day of the week, at ANY time of the day/night
