Mandy is the sweetest, most gentle dog you could ask for. She is low energy, with short bursts of excitement- usually in the morning when she’s let out of her crate. She just wants to be by your side and is happy to sleep all day.

She is not interested in playing or chewing toys, but she enjoys short to medium length walks. She does not pull on the leash, and she checks in regularly.

She hasn’t had many chances to socialize with other dogs, but she is not reactive on walks. She tends to be frightened of larger dogs and chooses to keep her distance from them. She immediately welcomes new people and will run up to them for affection.

Mandy is well behaved in the house. She is house-trained but is working on signaling when she needs to go out. In the two weeks of fostering, we have only heard her bark once. She will, however, cry when left alone in her crate, and has a difficult time settling down. We are working on this with her, but she would be happiest in a home where she is not left alone for extended periods.

She is incredibly patient when grooming, trimming hair, and handling her paws. We have not introduced her to any children, but with proper introduction we have no concerns.
We are unsure of how she does with cats, but she is not prey-driven and likely would be fine.

She is working on the fundamentals such as sit, down, stay, come, off, etc. She is not food driven but will never turn down a good pet. Affection is key when training with her. She loves all kinds of attention but will also happily settle down at the other end of the room.

She’s currently still nervous in the car. She will shiver and pant but does not cry out. She hasn’t had many car rides in our foster care, and likely get better with experience.
