Koala

Adopted

Description

Female, 3 years, bully X, 54 lbs

Koala, or as we call her Koala Bear, is such a sweet, fun loving dog! She loves to play fetch, throw her toys around and look like a total goof ball. Koala LOVES to cuddle and really enjoys belly rubs. She does need regular walking; I walk her an hour in the morning and 30 mins in the evening after dinner. Koala is phenomenal on the leash and does not pull!! She always gets the zoomies when we get home from a walk so I let her out in the yard to let her blow it off and then she snoozes. She is kennel trained and sleeps in her crate at bedtime. You do have to really encourage her to go in, but once she is in she lays right down!! Koala is amazing with my 2-year-old son and loves him dearly. She is also very good with my dog who is smaller than her. She needs a good introduction through a gate or a chain link fence when first meeting new dogs and then to be allowed to sniff the house and yard before face-to-face introduction. She isn’t mean, I think she is just scared at first and just lets out warning barks. Koala is best suited for a home with a fully fenced backyard, she would not do well in an apartment. She rides well in the car but would be more comfortable if you have a dog hammock cover or in the back of an SUV. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Koala!

Koala is being fostered in Airdrie.
