Blaze

Adopted

Description

Male, 2 years, bully X, 66 lbs

Blaze is such a gem and with a little training he will make a great companion to the right family. He loves food, which makes training fairly easy. He has picked up on sit, lay down, come and working on paw and stay. He picks things up fairly quickly with lots of repetition. He definitely could benefit from eating out of a slow feeder as he is quite eager when it comes to meal times.

He is not fully house trained and has had a couple accidents in the house but if he's let out every couple of hours he has been good about going outside. He loves to be praised for going outside. He loves to be told he's a good boy in general and he totally is!

He has been good when passing dogs on walks but have not done any formal intros with other dogs but should be okay after proper introductions. He did react towards a big male dog on our walk so might be better with females. He is very good on leash and hardly pulls at all, only when he gets on a good scent and wants to check it out. He is a typical male and wants to pee on EVERYTHING.

He does not like to go into his crate but will go in with bribes of food, once in he settles quickly. If left alone he does Houdini out of the crate. Still not sure how he does it!

This dog is the sweetest boy and is so eager to please. He just wants to be right next to you, whether you’re going to the bathroom or laying on the couch he wants to be right there with you. He does have some personal space issues as in he doesn't have a clue about personal space and wants to be as close to you as possible. He has been good with all the people he has met, although is a little timid around men and seems to be better with females. He probably would do well with older kids, he’s quite bouncy and jumpy so probably no young kids as he probably would knock them over. Blaze needs a home with no cats.

Blaze is being fostered in Calgary.
