Seabiscuit (or, as we are lovingly calling him, Chucho) is the kind of dog who makes every day a little sweeter. He is gentle, affectionate, wonderfully social, and a gentleman in every way.
He loves long and leisurely walks with plenty of time to stop and sniff. He often shows off with a little leap and short bursts of joyful energy, but is more of a trotter than a long-distance runner. If he could be outside all day, he absolutely would.
Chucho is an agreeable and good-natured dog. He is comfortable with car rides and is happy to sleep in his crate. He has not shown a hint of aggressive behaviour; he is gentle and sweet with children, good with other dogs, and always happy to meet someone new. He has proven himself to be housebroken, is accepting of baths, and enjoys a good brush.
Though he doesn’t seem to know commands, he comes to his name and responds well to the offer of a treat. He rarely barks, never jumps on people, and has shown zero interest in climbing up on furniture. He is a clever dog that shows potential to learn commands with practice.
Overall, Chucho is calm and adaptable. We assume he’s been shown love and kindness through most of his life. This being said, he does (quite fairly) have some abandonment issues. He is quick to attach and happiest when he is with his person. He becomes quite anxious when he is left at home alone, but has shown potential to grow braver on his own. His ideal companion would be someone who can spend the better part of their day with him. His calm nature would make him a great dog for a retiree, stay-at-home parent, or someone who can take him to work.
