Meet Gumbo (aka Dash)! 💙🐾
Gumbo is an affectionate, active boy who absolutely loves being with his people. His ideal home would be one with an active lifestyle and plenty of family members around to give him the companionship he enjoys so much.
He currently lives in a condo and does very well. When his person is home, he is incredibly quiet and rarely makes a sound. He has even learned to use an artificial turf pet loo on the balcony for those convenient late-night bathroom breaks!
Gumbo gets around two hours of exercise each day and is happiest when he has opportunities to get outside and explore. He loves hiking, running, chasing a ball, sniffing around, and even joining his foster on biking adventures in a bike trailer. He has also been introduced to the water and will happily chase his ball in — swimming lessons are still a work in progress! A home with a yard would be a bonus, giving him a place to play, lounge in the sunshine, hunt for bugs, and take in all the good smells.
He is also a fantastic traveller. With his seat-belt harness secured in the back seat, Gumbo settles in and usually sleeps quietly through the journey.
When the adventures are over, Gumbo turns into a complete snuggle bunny. ❤️ He loves being close to his person and is perfectly content curling up beside you while you watch TV or eat dinner.
🐶 Other dogs: Gumbo does very well with dogs both big and small and has been a favourite at the doggy daycares he attends. He is not comfortable around unneutered male dogs, so that would need to be considered when finding his best match.
🎓 Training: Gumbo is extremely food motivated, which makes him an eager and rewarding student. He loves learning when treats are involved!
😂 Fun fact: Baths and rainy walks can trigger a serious case of the zoomies — but thankfully, they only last a few minutes!
Gumbo would thrive with an active family who wants a dog to join them on adventures but also appreciates having a loving, cuddly companion at the end of the day. He really offers the best of both worlds — adventure buddy by day, snuggle buddy by night. ❤️
