If you’re looking for a dog who will be your biggest fan, your cuddle buddy, your adventure partner, and your personal shadow, Dash might just be your perfect match.
Dash is the definition of a people dog. He absolutely adores everyone he meets. On walks, he’ll happily make eye contact with strangers in hopes they’ll stop to say hello—and more often than not, they do! His sweet face and wagging tail are impossible to resist.
At home, Dash is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. One minute he’s zooming around the house, bouncing off the couch with excitement, and the next he’s curled up beside you for a nap, convinced that touching you is the best place in the world to be. Whether you’re watching a movie, working from home, grabbing a coffee on a patio, or heading out for a walk, Dash just wants to be included.
He’s a smart little guy who’s eager to please and has settled beautifully into foster care. He loves exploring, soaking up the sunshine, and never says no to a puppuccino or a cozy blanket.
Dash’s ideal home is one where someone is home most of the day or can gradually continue building his confidence being alone. Like many dogs who have experienced change, he struggles with separation anxiety. He’s made wonderful progress since arriving in foster care, but he can still become distressed if left alone for long periods, which may include crying or the occasional accident indoors. With patience, consistency, and a predictable routine, he continues to improve every week.
Although his rescue name is Gumbo, I’ve been calling him Dash in foster care, and he happily responds to it. His forever family is welcome to keep either name, but he already knows and answers to Dash.
