Ambrosia is a sweet, sensitive girl. While we don't know much about her past, it's evident that she hasn't always felt safe in the world.
When she first came into foster care, she quickly formed a strong bond with the matriarch of the family. With her trusted person, she showed her true personality: gentle, affectionate, calm, and eager to be close. She walks nicely on leash, enjoys companionship, and has so much love to give once she feels secure.
As her bond with her trusted person grew, she became increasingly defensive and reactive toward other members of the household. Her behavior may be rooted in fear and insecurity, not malice, and she will need an adopter who understands that trust must be earned on her timeline.
Ambrosia is both house-trained and crate-trained. Her crate is her safe space, and she settles well when she has a quiet place to retreat and decompress. She has not been tested with other animals or children under 12. Any introductions will have to be done in a supervised, controlled setting.
Ambrosia is looking for a patient, experienced home where she can continue building confidence and learn that the world is a safe place. She will thrive with someone who is willing to move at her pace, respect her boundaries, and help her work through her fears using kindness and consistency.
