Bear is a gentle soul with the sweetest heart 🤍 After coming from a testing facility, the world still feels like a pretty big and scary place to him, so he’s looking for a patient, understanding family who will let him move at his own pace. Every single day, though, Bear shows a little more trust, a little more bravery, and a little more of the wonderful dog he’s becoming. 🐾
This shy boy loves reassurance and will quietly come to his people for soft pets and comfort when he’s feeling unsure. New noises can still make him skittish, especially when going in and out of the house, but Bear keeps trying. He’ll trot little circles in the yard, gather his courage, and make another attempt. Watching him work through his fears is honestly pretty inspiring. His foster dog siblings have been a huge help, especially little Tika, who patiently stays by his side and encourages him every step of the way.
Bear has made amazing progress with house training. When he first arrived, accidents happened often, but he quickly learned the routine and now happily goes outside to do his business. No more pee pads needed for this smart boy. 😊
He’s wonderfully easygoing around food and shares bowls peacefully with the other dogs in his foster home. Treats are still a bit confusing to him, but he’s starting to enjoy nighttime snacks once everyone settles down. He’s also discovering the joy of chew bones, while toys are still very much a “work in progress.”
At bedtime, Bear has decided that a cozy bed is far superior to a kennel. He may need a little help getting up there, but once settled, he sleeps quietly most nights. If something unfamiliar wakes him, he may wander the house for a bit before finding a comfy spot near his foster family.
Bear absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with calm, confident canine companions to help guide him. People, however, will need to earn his trust slowly and gently. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality starts to shine through.
Because the world can still feel overwhelming, Bear isn’t ready for walks just yet, and he would do best in a quieter home where he won’t be left alone for long periods. He has done well being left for 4–5 hours at a time. He has not yet been cat tested and has not been car tested, though he would need to travel safely in a kennel.
Bear’s journey is not a quick one, but for the right family, it will be incredibly rewarding. Watching this brave little guy learn that people can be kind and that life can be safe is something truly special. ❤️
