Concha is a gentle little soul who is still learning that the world can be safe 💕 After a difficult and inconsistent start to life in Mexico, she’s slowly discovering how good it feels to be loved, fed regularly, and spoiled with treats and butt scratches.
She’s a quiet, easy companion who would do well in either an apartment or a house. Her kennel is her safe space and she absolutely loves it, often gathering up her toys and treasures to bring back inside like a tiny dragon guarding her hoard 🧸 She’s still figuring out cuddles and furniture life, but every day she gets a little braver.
Concha gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats, and having a calm, confident dog buddy in the home could really help her continue to open up and gain confidence. She has zero prey drive, despite all the tempting geese, rabbits, and squirrels out on walks. She’s much more interested in keeping track of her person than chasing anything.
Walks are going really well and she has lovely loose-leash manners, though loud noises and busy environments can still be scary for her. When she feels unsure, she looks to her person for reassurance and guidance. Because she’s still building confidence, she’ll need a patient family willing to let her move at her own pace.
Food is absolutely the way to Concha’s heart 🍖 She loves treats, meals, chewy toys, and a good butt rub. She’s also doing very well with house training, though she’s not quite perfect yet.
Concha would do best in a home without small children. She’s not aggressive at all, just sensitive and timid, and when overwhelmed she prefers to hide rather than confront.
