Meet Tre
This guy hasn’t had an easy life. He was initially a homeless boy roaming with his brother, hanging out around a school. They were friendly, so a foster plea went out to coordinate their rescue. Sadly both Tre and his brother Rafael were severely attacked and injured before they could be rescued, and now require some fairly extensive recovery.
Tre is a big boy, who will need also to be neutered before heading to his forever home. He is currently battling a bacterial skin infection, a pretty severely infected bite wound to his right hind leg as well a pellet lodged under his knee in that same leg. This combination of injuries causes periodic limping. His leg is being monitored/treated, and the pellet will likely be removed when Tre is healthy enough to be neutered.
Tre has been incredibly docile and very sweet since arriving in his foster home. He’s currently residing with many other dogs (fellow foster and resident dogs), and has show great progress in the short time he’s been in foster care. The first couple days were difficult for him because he had so much change happen to him so fast. He’s slowly picking up on the routine in his foster’s home, and while his recovery is far from over, he’s realizing he is safe now, and that’s huge for a boy like Tre.
He’ll need a special home. One that can be patient with him, while he’s learning how to be a family dog, all while recovering from some pretty miserable injuries. He’s approx 70lbs and still fairly young (his injuries have him looking older than he is). He has no manners but is quite gentle. He might need some work on resource guarding bones or toys since that’s new for him. He has no leash manners. I’d guess being on leash and in a kennel are brand new for him, but he’s slowly catching on to both.
Tre would love a furever home. He’s never had one before 🏡
