Meet Madeline 💕 (aka Maddie, Miss Maddycakes, Baby Girl)
Madeline is a sweet soul who is getting braver with each passing day. This shy little lady is learning that the world isn’t so scary—especially when there are kind humans, cozy spots, and tasty treats involved!
Maddie loves to cuddle up near her people and happily accepts all the belly rubs you’re willing to give. She’s affectionate, soft-hearted, and once she feels comfortable, she shows her love with plenty of puppy kisses. She can be a bit submissive, so her foster family is helping her build confidence, and she’s making lovely progress.
Cold weather isn’t Maddie’s favorite, but she’s been doing a great job mastering pee pad training while she continues to learn her outdoor routine. She doesn’t chew on household items and is still figuring out what walks are—something that will continue to improve as the weather warms and her confidence grows.
Maddie is friendly with the people she’s met so far and has done wonderfully in the car with no issues at all. At night, she sleeps in her crate and settles well, though she would much rather be snuggled up in bed with her humans if given the choice. When left alone, she may bark for a little while in her crate but soon quiets down and relaxes. She has also been trusted to free roam the apartment alone for some short periods as well.
Because Maddie can be skittish and shy, she would do best in a calm home with older children who understand how to give her space and gentle reassurance. With patience, love, and consistency, Madeline will blossom into an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
