we've changed her name to Chloe. She kind of responds to it, and is learning to "sit" for treats. She is a typical Dachshund, with a mind of her own lol.
The behaviour that we are currently focusing on is her reactivity to both other dogs and humans.
We are using a secure-feeling and positive reward system, with slow, supervised introductions. She can still be unpredictable, and is fearful with movement around her. She is completely secure within our home and family, but is easily threatened by anything new.
In general, Chloe is a sweet, sweet girl. She runs and jumps and frolics. She definitely loves toys to chew, and has a favourite Teddy Bear that she carries around with her. She's a good eater, and goes outside through our doggy door independently, as long as it's not too cold outside. She enjoys short walks, but is easily distracted by the world around her. Walking on a leash appears to be a newer skill for her.
She doesn't mind her crate, but loves to snuggle with her human whenever possible. She is a good companion, and loves attention.
After some initial resource guarding, she is now a pretty good sharer. She is currently living with our two female chihuahua-cross dogs that are similarly sized, and she does well with them, although they are a bit older and don't play very much.
She's not a fan of baths, but loves to follow you into the bathroom for company.
She is also a good sleeper - no interruptions in the night, unless she's cold and wants to cuddle closer.
She is a barker, and likes to give her opinion, but does respond well to "quiet" command.
I can picture Chloe in a house without small children (that move suddenly), and with a small or medium dog that likes to play.
She has not been exposed to cats, so I'm not sure how she would react.
She would also do well with people who are home a lot. She does not do well with being alone for very long.
She is very loyal, and gives lots of love.
