Labatt (Felix)

Meet Felix, the friendliest, most loving, affectionate, and playful dog who would make a great lap dog. He’s quite calm, and I haven’t heard him bark yet—just a growl and a whine. A true California dog, he loves to lay on the grass and sunbathe, either inside the house or outside. He enjoys his naps throughout the day and loves to lie on a fluffy rug. He gets the zoomies when he’s in an open space, loves to play with small toys, and enjoys playing catch with them.

I would say he’s potty trained, but I always make sure he goes outside regularly so there aren’t any accidents. He likes places that are familiar to him and gets nervous in unfamiliar environments. He doesn’t like the vacuum, hair dryer, or any appliance that makes loud noises. He doesn’t really get into mischief, but I wouldn’t leave any Apple phone or laptop chargers on the ground—he might chew on them if he notices them.

Motivated by treats, Felix learns quickly and is good in the crate—he will even go in by himself. At first, he was cautious about it, but once he knows you’ll be back for him, he’ll go in easily with a treat. Sometimes, he’ll grab a kibble of food and eat it in a different area of the house; he also doesn’t eat all of his food at once.

He does well on a leash but is cautious about his surroundings, especially with strangers and other dogs. He’s curious when he sees another dog from afar but can get anxious when they get too close and might put his guard up. When meeting strangers, he can be a bit skittish but will eventually warm up if you’re slow and gentle with introductions. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, he’ll thrive. He would do well in a home where he’s the only animal.

Overall, Felix is a sweet, chill dog who loves affection, stretching, and naps.

Are they good with cats: Not tested
Are they good with dogs: With slow introductions. He hasn’t met a dog in a controlled environment, but he has come across mostly big dogs on his walks and doesn’t seem to like it when they get too close. He almost freezes and gets skittish, often going to you for support and protection.
Are they good with children: Not tested, but likely with slow and proper introductions.
Do they bark: I haven’t heard him bark yet
Are they house-trained: Yes (if he’s taken out regularly)
Are they good in the car: Yes (will get scared if the car is unfamiliar to him)
Are they good on leash: Yes
