Meet Whistler – the spunky sweetheart with a whole lot of love (and energy) to give!
Whistler is a lovable, goofy girl who’s still growing into her paws and her manners. Around 9 months old, she’s full of that classic "puppy dumb" charm—sweet, clumsy, and occasionally mischievous! She’s incredibly affectionate, loves to snuggle, and is fantastic on leash. She’s also pretty quiet around the house and has been doing great with her house training after a little adjustment period.
Whistler will thrive in a home that can give her plenty of exercise, patience, and structure. She’s smart but a bit selective when it comes to listening—sometimes she’s happy to follow directions, and other times she’s simply too busy living her best life. A firm, kind hand (and a good sense of humor!) will go a long way with her.
Whistler would benefit from having a similar-sized dog in the home to help her continue learning proper social manners. She can be a little overwhelming with smaller dogs, often ignoring their corrections and responding by plopping down right on top of them! She’s not aggressive at all, just still figuring out the social cues.
True to her playful spirit, Whistler is also very mouthy, like many young labs, and doesn't yet have a soft mouth—so she can be a little rough when she's excited. She's also still learning what’s appropriate to chew on (a TV remote and a couple of harnesses can confirm that supervision is important!). With lots of toys, redirection, and guidance, she's making good progress.
Whistler has met young children on leash and was super gentle and respectful. She's shown she can be calm and polite with little ones when properly managed.
She rides well in the car, rarely barks, and would likely do fine with a dog-savvy cat—though she may try to play a little too enthusiastically.
