Meet sweet little Poe. If you are looking for a snuggle buddy look no further. Poe absolutely loves people and she wants to love you with her whole heart. Her favourite activity is snuggling into the crook of your arm and keeping you warm while you watch TV. She will give you gentle kisses occasionally, and is always up for a belly rub.
I know the initial description of her says puggle, but I don't really see any pug in her. She is like a very delicately built beagle, maybe a chihuahua/beagle mix would be more accurate. She is a very happy little dog, very light on her feet and almost prances along beside you when she's walking. She is very good on a leash, and hops in and out of the truck on her own already. She is not inclined to be a barker, she has rarely barked while she has been here but the couple of times she did it was a Beagle sounding bark.
She has not had a single accident, or even made an attempt to pee in the house since I've had her. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate and will wait patiently during the day while in it. She would very much like to sleep in the bed with you if you give her a chance though!
Poe is a very sweet, gentle and tolerant dog. She will let you touch her face, feet, teeth, roll her over, etc. without a worry in the world. I cut her nails, including one badly ingrown dew claw, and she made no fuss at all. My dog also gives her head to toe inspections and she just patiently waits out the process.
Poe is a very intelligent dog, and very easy to train. She wants to please her people and is both praise and food motivated which is very helpful. She LOVES food, and will do a funny little dance when meals are on the way. She hasn't shown any food aggression, and patiently waits her turn for treats with my dog.
I have taken Poe to work with me quite a few times, and she has cheerfully made friends with every person she met with her tail wagging the whole time. New environments don't seem to make her terribly nervous, she adjusts quickly and enjoys people around. At home I have had a family dinner and she did really well in the noisy environment, finding a lap to snuggle into and falling asleep. .
Little Poe has been very good with all the dogs she has met, and seems to be a well balanced dog. She is cautious initially but once she knows they mean her no harm she is happy to make friends. She communicates well, and will engage in play. She is good at establishing her boundaries and will disengage with things get too rambunctious for her. She has had puppies in the past and is quite tolerant tolerant of their antics.
Poe seems to be medium/low energy dog. She follows me around the house, is very excited when you come home, and is learning to enjoy her toys. She does well on walks, and does a few laps around the yard with my dog, before finding a sunbeam, or a lap, or the back of the couch to sleep on. She is a cheerful, bouncy dog, but snuggling is her main thing.
She doesn't seem to have any food allergies, and aside from still being quite skinny is doing really well. She is a little ray of sunshine, and wants more than anything to have people of her own. I think she would be a good dog for most types of homes.
