Nikkie is a total all-star dog! She exudes joy and happiness out of every pore, and is just happy to be involved no matter what you are doing! Nikki absolutely melts for any kind of love and affection, and if you are looking for the perfect companion to bring happiness into your life every day, this is your girl! Nikki has gotten along well with all dogs she has met, both large and small. She has a very nice gentle play style. She also knows how to read the body language of dogs who are not interested in playing, and she will completely leave them alone. Nikkie has met the resident cat once, and so far she has barked at her but also been nervous. We aren’t sure at this time if she will become friends with the cat, or if she would be better off without a cat in the home. Nikki walks fairly well on the leash with a little bit of pulling when there is something very exciting (like a bird!). She is definitely more confident having her foster siblings at her side, however her confidence with new situations is growing every day. She is also very trainable, and her house manners continue to improve. Currently Nikkie is kept in her crate when left alone in the house, and she does very well in her crate. She has been left alone outside of the crate for short periods of time without getting into any mischief, and we will continue to expand her freedoms over time. She is still a big puppy after all and will occasionally chew on things that she shouldn’t. Nikkie has met children of all ages and has done very well. She is smart and eager to please, and would do well as the only dog in the home or with other doggy siblings!

Nikkie came to us from Mexico a few months back, with her 5 equally adorable siblings.💖Nikkie and her siblings were found as strays, along with their Mom, they were just newly born, young pups. Sadly they all had a very rough start to life.😢 These loving pups were horribly mistreated, luckily some good samaritans reached out to Stray Dog Support and they were all picked up and given the love and support that they so desperately needed. Once they were healthy and thriving the pups embarked on their voyage to Canada to start their new lives! ✈️
