🐾 Meet McFly (Jake)! 🐾
Jake is a handsome Husky mix with a loyal heart and a wonderful balance of adventure and relaxation. Trusting, affectionate, and well-trained, he's happiest spending time with his people, whether that's heading out for a walk, enjoying a game of tug-of-war, or simply relaxing on his bed or at your feet after a fun day.
Jake enjoys exploring his surroundings and can be a little adventurous around the house. While he doesn't enjoy being crated, he does very well with child gates that give him controlled access to different areas of the home.
This sweet boy gets along well with other dogs, although he can be selective and appreciates slower introductions. On walks, he may react to certain dogs, but with calm leadership and redirection, he's able to refocus and continue on his way. Jake has no separation anxiety and is content spending time on his own during the day. In fact, one of the best parts of his day is greeting his family with excitement and enthusiasm when they return home!
Jake already knows several commands, including sit, paw, wait, and leave it, and he generally walks nicely on a loose leash. Like many dogs who have experienced hardship, he can become overstimulated at times and needs guidance when meeting new people. Due to past abuse and trust challenges, introductions are most successful when done thoughtfully using tools such as outdoor greetings, treats, and child gates to help him feel safe and comfortable.
Jake is looking for a patient champion and best friend who will continue helping him build confidence and thrive. He may do well with another dog who matches his personality and energy level. He loves spending time on the deck or in the backyard soaking up the sunshine, relaxing, and playing.
As Jake continues to experience the safety and stability of a loving home, his true personality shines through. He is obedient, eager to please, treat-motivated, and incredibly loyal. For the right person willing to support him along the way, Jake will be a devoted companion and faithful friend. ❤️
