The best way to describe Carly Rae is to call her sweet. She is a very submissive, well socialized dog who does well with other dogs and with small children. She did not take very long to warm up to our family and did not appear to be afraid when she was first brought to our foster home. She is working on house training but will do her business if she is let out shortly after she eats. She tends to hold her pee but if not let out shortly after eating she sometimes has an accident inside. Carly Rae is learning to go on walks, she has an adorable dachshund body and legs and is a lot slower than my dog who has a greyhound fisique. She would do well with someone who wants to go on leisurely walks, she does not pull on her leash but does tend to lag behind when the walker is going at a brisk pace. Carly Rae is food motivated and is working on basic commands. Carly Rae does not bark very much but she will bark at birds in the backyard when she is looking out the window. Carly's long dachshund body curls up into a compact little ball when she takes a nap on the couch, she looks absolutely precious when she does this. Carly likes to mosey around the house, following people around and observing them. If on the rare occasion she is caught doing something naughty she will be very remorseful and will flip onto her back exposing her tummy. Carly Rae does well in her crate, she is crated at night and when we leave the house. She does not cry or make a fuss while in her crate. Carly Rae would make a wonderful addition to any household that is looking for a lower energy girl who is a little sweetie!
