Hi! I am Chino. You may know me by the name Avril, but my fosters' thought Chino was better suited. I arrived March 16th from Bakersfield California. I am a loveable playful girl who my fosters think is amazing. I love to be around my people and have a sweet, playful, and affectionate disposition. I tend to be a showstopper on walks as I am told I look unique, or my tongue is often hanging out. I am currently learning house manners and know not to jump on the couches and not to go into the kitchen while mom is cooking. I sometimes think I am a lap dog or jump up to meet you, but I am working on this too. I am great on a leash and my Mom says I walk beautifully. When I am on a walk, I greet other dogs nicely and I don't seem to have a prey drive. I did meet one cat on a walk, and I was a bit curious but did not seem aggressive.
I am crate trained and do well in my crate. I can go long stretches during the day and I like to sleep in it at night. I am still working on house training but usually I do not have accidents if I am taken out on a regular basis. I am working on using a bell to let my fosters know I have to go, but it might take time. I am a pretty quiet dog but when I play, I do have that pit bull grunt and, which may be intimidating to those that don't know my breed but is actually pretty standard play.
I do well in a car and have been on a patio already and passed with flying colours. I have not met any young kids, but I don't think they would be a concern to me. I am food motivated and love treats; that said I do know what is mine to chew on and what is not mine and I’m not interested in shoes.
