Monkey is such a loving and playful puppy, and would be a wonderful addition to any family. It only takes a day for her to learn new tricks and she listens very well. She is food motivated and eager to please, and is very well behaved considering she’s a puppy.

Monkey is more interested in people than her surroundings, and is very cuddly. So far she has learned to sit, lay down, shake a paw, and twirl. She loves learning new things and is very great at listening. We bought her a puzzle feeder, which she figured out immediately, and would do amazing in a home where lots of mental stimulation is provided. She loves her kong toy as well, and has learned how to throw it around in order to get the treats out of it.

Monkey lives with two cats and does well with them. She gets along better with our older cat as he is more confident and does not react to her. Our younger cat prefers to watch her from a distance, and for the most part Monkey ignores her. We have given them all treats side-by-side and they behaved well. If she gets too excited she attempts to initiate play with them, but is easy to redirect with commands and treats. If they run she does want to go after them, but again is easy to redirect.

We have no other dogs in the house, and so far Monkey has not interacted with any while in our care. She will bark at both people and dogs while outside, and barks at the neighbours dogs. In the facility Monkey had lots of play time with other puppies and did great. I think her reactions are more a mix of her puppy-excitement and a lack of socializing with dogs. I do believe she would do wonderfully in a home with another high energy dog to play with.

I have only ever seen Monkey interact with one child, and she did amazing. She loves all people and is quite gentle in nature. Monkey does not nip, but does like to give kisses. She sits nicely to greet people, however she will jump up after her initial hellos.

She is a barker. She barks at people passing by outside, and she will bark when anyone returns home. Monkey still has accidents in the house, but does fine when let out regularly.

Monkey is still learning that it is okay to be alone, and we are slowly working on the amount of time she’s comfortable in her crate alone. She sleeps in her crate, and is quiet the whole night, but does need potty breaks as she’s young.

In the car Monkey is mellow, but is still a little nervous about it. For the most part she will just lay down and nap, and when parked she likes to take in her surroundings.

Her favourite thing to do is play in the snow with her people, and she's a huge fan of tennis balls and squeaky toys. Monkey is seriously so smart, loving, and playful, and will easily grow into an outstanding dog!
