Seren is as gorgeous as her name, which means ‘Star’ in Welsh. She is a young, energetic and playful girl who is affectionate and charismatic. Everywhere she goes, people comment on how beautiful she is. Seren loves other dogs both big and small. She plays very well with her foster siblings (two large breed dogs), and has done well with all other dogs she has been introduced to outside of the house. Seren does have a bit of an intense/rough play style especially with small dogs, and therefore would be better suited to a playmate closer to her size. Seren also lives with a cat, and does like to chase and bark at her. She might be better with a very confident cat who doesn’t run, or may be better off in a cat-free home. Seren walks very nicely on the leash, and loves to sniff and explore outside. She shows no leash reactivity when encountering other dogs on leash. She would probably make an excellent running or hiking partner with her long legs and lean build. Seren has energy to burn, and does best with two good walks per day or better yet, an opportunity to run off leash or chase a ball. She enjoys having a backyard to run around, and she will spend time outside on her own running around the yard. Seren also travels very well in the car. She is house trained and crate trained, however does well left loose in the house without accidents or getting into things. Seren has shown minor resource guarding tendencies towards the other dogs in the home surrounding food. She came in to the rescue underweight and we are unsure if this is where the behaviour stems from. Currently Seren functions well in a multi-dog household with strict separation during feeding time and being careful when offering treats to the dogs (i.e. not letting food drop on the ground between dogs etc). Luckily Seren has not shown any resource guarding with toys, and shares her toys well with her foster siblings. In fact, she loves to play tug with her foster brother and together they enjoy pulling the stuffing out of all of their toys. Seren would also likely thrive as the only dog in the home, with the ability to still get together with doggy playmates outside of the home. Seren does show some puppy-like behaviour when she gets very excited, including nipping and jumping, and therefore we would recommend a home without children or with older children only. Seren will make an amazing companion especially to an active household! We can’t wait to find her happily ever after!
