Johnson is a very clever dog with a calm demeanor and content personality. It was apparent that he had been around humans and isn't afraid of them but wasn't handled a lot. He is learning to accept praise and affection, and has only been around adults and his foster siblings. With his temperament we don't foresee him having any issues with small children or dogs. He is getting more experience with his leash walking and does walk well on the leash with only a few reminders for him not to get distracted, and will get better as they become more frequent with the warmer weather.

He is a very smart boy and has quickly learned his name . He is making really good progress with his basic commands:
Sit
Come
Stay
Down
Leave it

He has even learned to shake a paw and is getting much better at being patient, ex: waiting to have his paws wiped when he comes inside, and getting permission to eat. He knows that his crate is his safe spot and will lay in his kennel during the day with the door open napping, and sleeps in there through the night. He is doing well with his house training and accidents have dramatically decreased. With the help of the other dogs Johnson has learned to go to the door to ask to goutside, and during the night will bark to go out if he needs to but this is not often as he is typically sleeping through the night. Johnson plays well with his much bigger foster brother, and he does get a bit frustrated from time to time with the size difference, and is really only when he barks. We think that ultimately, he would be best suited in a home with a dog more of his size. His recall is improving daily and he really seems to be a big people pleaser wanting to make people happy to get praise. He really is a strong candidate for best dog ever.
