Prairie is beautiful and a perfectly mid sized Cattle Dog Mix. This girl has gorgeous blue eyes and a vibrant personality to match! She is a wonderful resident at our facility.

Prairie is likely fine with other dogs provided they have similar play styles and proper introductions are made.

Very friendly and outgoing with people, but will need to be evaluated around children and small animals. She needs some training to curb her tendency to jump when excited, so older children are likely a better fit.

Fully housetrained!

Very clever! She picks up on commands very easily and is eager to please.

Prairie is a fantastic walker on a leash.

She is amazing at food puzzles and other enrichment activities. Prairie enjoys mental and physical stimulation and would benefit from a home that is able to provide her with both regularly.

Prairie does exhibit some guarding behaviours with resources like food and toys, so she enjoys having her own space to enjoy her toys and treats. She seems to only do this with other dogs, not humans. Prairie is not overly loud, typically only barks when exciting things are happening at the shelter, such as her neighbours passing by her kennel. She is fantastic in a vehicle. During car rides she is quiet, and curls right up to be your co-pilot.

She is a very intelligent and affectionate dog that needs a structured routine and lots of love to thrive.
