CJ lives for attention and loves to be included in everything. A month ago he was happy being independent, doing his own thing and only half sitting on laps. Now that he’s fully decompressed the word Velcro comes to mind. CJ is very affectionate and a true companion once he’s fully comfortable with you. Because he is self-confident and easy going he tends to be friendly toward strangers, human and canine.
Although he is a shadow in the house he loves to wander off outdoors. A secure fenced yard is a must. His little paw prints are the only ones leading through snow banks on the backyard while his foster siblings cower in the warmth of the house during potty breaks. He likes to spend time outside regardless of the weather.
CJ currently has four Chihuahuas for companionship, and although he tolerates everyone, he'd probably be happier as an only child.
CJ was not fixed yet when he first arrived so his marking was bad the first few days. Now it’s very occasional and only when he goes somewhere new. He tends to hold it to be let outside but does occasionally use peepads.
Car rides, outdoor adventures, watching movies while attached to my cheek, sleeping on my head at night and asking for pets are some of his favourite things. He does sing lead in our chihuahua choir but he’s not overly vocal on his own.
