Meet Roxy, a 9-month-old Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog mix. She’s a sweet girl who may appear shy at first but warms up quickly to show humans and other canines how lovable and energetic she is. Her adventurous spirit shines when she’s outside, going for walks (on and off leash), playing chase and socializing with other dogs, and she especially likes to explore new trails and smells! She’s also fine to laze on the couch or floor and play with and chew her toys, although her puppy battery does not take long to charge. Her black and white spotted ears are just one of her striking features that wins compliments. She’s also affectionate and gives hugs by wrapping her front legs around arms.
Roxy is very energetic and loves to run and play. She is very smart and looking for someone to help her to hone her skills and teach her some games – she adores mentally stimulating games like keep-away and being chased around the yard. She would do best with some space to move in, and continued attention to firm up her training. She is working on her re-call, and not pulling on her leash while out walking. While these skills are improving, her enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of her.
Roxy passed first level obedience training where she learned skills including sit, stay, lay down and use puppy manners such as sitting before leaving the house and coming in again. She is training to sleep in her crate and working to figure out her puppy clock to have consistency at night without wanting out for a spin in the yard and bathroom break. She loves greeting her family in the morning, eager to start every day. She is eating 3 meals a day supplemented with treats. She is happy to have some alone time, both crated and uncrated when her family is out up to 3 or 4 hours at a time.
If you’re looking for a loving and energetic companion for your adventures, Roxy will be sure to bring joy to you and your family!
