Meet Gary! Gary is a very smart, energetic boy who needs someone who will exercise his body and brain. He loves walks, hikes, running, puzzles, and playing with our resident dog. Don't be fooled with his high energy, he still loves to have a good cuddle and nap with his people.

Gary has done well with all the dogs he's met and has shown no signs of aggression. He loves people and has done well with all genders and ages. Due to his high energy levels he would be better suited to live with older kids.

On walks Gary will pull but listens to corrections and is getting better. He loves to say hi to everyone we encounter, and sometimes needs a reminder to settle down as his excitement often gets the better of him.

Gary is potty trained and we are working on his crate training, he isn't a fan of his crate and would rather be out playing so he tends to cry for a bit and will occasionally bark. We have found that telling him to settle through our dog camara or having our dog in the same room as him helps him calm down. He can now sleep in his crate in a separate room through the night, only crying the first 5-10 minutes, and again in the morning when he hears us get up. If Gary had it his way, he would be with us all day, but has adjusted to our daily routine quite well. Gary really wants to please his people, and is quite smart. He is also food motivated which has helped in training him quickly. He would thrive in a home where someone has the time to keep up with this training so he can become the best new addition to your family.

Ideally Gary would have a backyard to run in, an active family that will take him on outings and that can keep up on his training, and another dog that he can play with to burn his energy.

We have loved having Gary in our home, he brings us so much joy and we are excited to see him do the same in his forever home.
