Miranda is a sweet, loving and curious little Beagle. She can be a little shy and standoffish at first, but once she settles in she is a cuddly little love bug.

Likes:
She LOVES toys, balls and toy puzzles
She loves her daily walks
She loves cuddling on the couch watching movies
She loves kids
She loves sleeping in bed with her people
She is great with other dogs (prefers the less hyper ones)
She is not tested with cats

Dislikes:
Being away from her humans (she will let you know vocally)
Being locked in a crate (most likely due to her past)

Miranda does have some separation anxiety, but long walks and mental stimulation really helps her calm down. Miranda would benefit from having another dog in the home to keep teaching her how to “dog”. Miranda is house broken but does not really signal to go out. Taking her outside often seems to be the trick. She is not recommended for attached housing.

Miranda is a survivor, one of the 4,000 beagles saved from the Envigo breeding facility in Cumberland, Virginia when that facility was shuttered due to Animal Welfare Act violations. Destined to be spend her life breeding dogs to be sold to laboratories for testing, or sold herself to be tested on, Miranda instead was rescued when the U.S. Dept of Justice transferred all dogs at the facility to the Humane Society of the United States who in turn reached out to rescue partners to take in the beagles to place in loving forever homes.

Adoption costs: $650.00
