Hello, my name is Chester (Bacon). I’m from Bakersfield California but came up to Calgary for a better life thanks to the BARCS people.

A little about me: I have a lovely temperament, my foster family haven’t heard me bark or growl once yet, even though they back onto a green space and lots of dogs and their people walk past the house and the yard. I get on well with my foster sister, we don’t interact much but sometimes snuggle up together to sleep, we eat our meals next to each other and share toys.

I absolutely love, love car rides, especially if it means I am being taken somewhere new to explore. I think I’d prefer it even more when the cold white stuff isn’t on the ground! I’m told I’m a very sweet boy and that I’m well mannered, gentle and easy going. I do love walks, my foster Dad laughs because I put my head down, tail up, and stride out as though I’m on a mission, actually I am, my mission is to meet other friendly dogs and their people, I love meeting everyone!

I can get a little sad if I’m left alone for too long and have been known to make little crying noises, I don’t howl though, if you leave nice music on or the television it keeps me company and then I’m ok.
In the cold I do wear a coat and little bootees, I look very Canadian! I quite like having a bath, especially when I’m rubbed dry with nice soft towels.
