Norman is the sweetest polar bear you will ever meet! He is a large well-mannered boy who is fully house trained and does well in his crate. He will only come on the furniture when invited up. He gives the biggest full body hugs by wrapping his lanky body around you and enjoys any human attention he can get. He came to the rescue quite skinny and he’s loving all the meals he’s receiving. He hasn’t shown any resource guarding and is very gentle at taking treats.

Norman is smart but very stubborn. He knows how to sit and will ring his doggy bell to be let out. We’re working on other tricks and recall; however, he doesn’t really know his name yet. He has a big scary bark that has only been heard when the Amazon man is delivering. He walks like a gentleman on leash but has shown some reactivity towards some dogs. He is easily direct-able and we’re working hard on this. Our negative experiences only seem to happen at night. I believe he is just trying to protect me while walking in the dark.

Norman is a low-medium energy guy who should plump up to 110-120lbs. His winter coat isn’t as Canadian ready as it could be, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to be outside in the cold. This sweet giant would love a house with a yard. He’s pretty lazy and would enjoy sunbathing in the snow all day. He’s a pretty chill dude who would probably not enjoy a household of active humans. I mean he could go hiking or for a run, but when he’s done, he’s done! He loves a short walk where he can just sniff and investigate the neighborhood. He maxes out around 30 minutes on leash.

Norman would do well with a family with older sturdier children as he doesn’t quite understand how big he is. He has proven to do well with other dogs when introduced properly. He has not been tested with cats.

Adoption costs: $650.00
