Doug is a super silly and playful cuddle bug. Like a typical 1-year old he is still learning the ropes in regards to manners, playing with toys and basic commands but he is eager to please and very food motivated to do so!

He comes house-trained and is very respectful to furniture when left alone. He isn’t a barker but will let out a bit of a bark if he’s feeling very passionate about something.

He has a nice big fluffy dog bed but still opts to sleep on the floor or his kennel.
Doug would benefit from another dog in the house to play with and teach him how to be a dog and help burn some of his energy. He has currently only seen dogs on walks and is very excited when he sees them but does not show any negative reactivity.

He will need an active home that is willing to tire him out mentally and physically. Due to his size and the fact that he has no idea how big he actually is, he would do better in a home with kids over 5. Though he does love kids, they are just easier access for all the cuddles and kisses.

Doug does seem to have a pretty high prey drive, he sees bunnies, cats, birds and squirrels and gets very excited and curious. Due to his excitement, he would do best in a home without cats.
Doug is a very special boy and is impossible not to love. He is going to make his new owners so happy and give them all the love he has and deserves in return.
