This handsome boy is looking for his forever home!

Dafodin came all the way from Thailand and all this change has not been easy for him, but he is beginning to settle into this new life and adjust to living with two other dogs and a cat.

With close supervision for the first few weeks and management strategies in place if needed, he could probably live with another pet but might be happier and able to settle in quicker without the extra stress.

Dafodin bonds strongly to his main caregiver and takes more time to warm up to other members of the family (husband and two teens). He's a cautious boy and you must earn his trust without pressuring him.

He's not too happy when new people come over. He goes into the safety of the penned in area and settles in there. He finds it safe and calming once he relaxes.

Once you establish a relationship with him, you will really see his playful side! He is also very fun to train and eager to learn. He catches on quickly to new things.
Dafodin is quite happy being outdoors and if you provide him safe chews, he will chill out contentedly and quietly for a long time.

He is learning not to bark at the neighbors when they are in their yard.

Dafodin enjoys walking in quiet areas where there is not too much going on. He prefers the quiet field behind my house as residential streets are still overwhelming for him, but we are slowly working on it. He is gaining more confidence when he walks with my greyhound who is very calm and laid back.

He will happily play in the yard with his toys and is learning fetch. Enrichment activities would be very beneficial for Dafodin. He enjoys puzzle feeders, stuffed Kong’s and searching for his food in the grass.

Dafodin sleeps well in his crate at night and waits patiently to be let out in the morning. Alternately, I feel he would do fine not crated.

Dafodin does not have any separation anxiety behaviours nor is he destructive inside or out. He has not had any accidents in the house.

Dafodin has been for a few car rides and did really well, but he still needs more practice to actually feel comfortable in the car.

Dafodin is a really sweet, loyal, fun dog once he feels comfortable with you. He will surely make you laugh!

Dafodin is looking for a family who is dog savvy and will continue his positive reinforcement training and have patience while he continues to adjust to his new family.
