Seren is as gorgeous as her name, which means ‘Star’ in Welsh. She is a young, energetic and playful girl who is affectionate and charismatic. Everywhere she goes, people comment on how beautiful she is. Overall Seren likes the company of other dogs that she is comfortable with, and plays very well with her foster siblings (two large breed dogs).Seren does have a bit of an intense/rough play style especially with small dogs, and therefore would be better suited to a playmate closer to her size. Seren also lives with a cat, and does like to chase and bark at her. She might be better with a very confident cat who doesn’t run, or may be better off in a cat-free home. Seren walks very nicely on the leash, and loves to sniff and explore outside. She shows no leash reactivity when encountering other dogs on leash. She would probably make an excellent running or hiking partner with her long legs and lean build. She also enjoys splashing in a creek on a hot day. Seren has energy to burn, and does best with two good walks per day or better yet, an opportunity to run off leash or chase a ball. She enjoys having a backyard to run around, and she will spend time outside on her own running around the yard. She has been to multiple group training classes and has done very well (she would probably love to do agility or any other dog sport that combines speed and confidence building). Seren also travels very well in the car. She is house trained and crate trained, however does well left loose in the house without accidents or getting into things.

Seren has shown some dog-selectivity, therefore proper and controlled introductions to new dogs is a must. Any poor reactions towards other dogs seems to be associated with resource guarding. She has only had a few instances of reaction towards other dogs, however if she is adopted into a home with another dog I would closely monitor her behaviour around things like food, receiving attention/affection from people etc. Currently Seren functions well in a multi-dog household with strict separation during feeding time, as well as sleeping in her crate at night so the dogs all have their own space to sleep. Seren has settled very nicely into her current routine, and definitely does best with exercise, structure and boundaries. Luckily Seren has not shown any resource guarding with toys, and shares her toys well with her foster siblings. In fact, she loves to play tug with her foster brother and together they enjoy pulling the stuffing out of all of their toys. Seren would also thrive as the only dog in the home, with the ability to still get together with doggy playmates outside of the home. Due to her excitable nature, which includes a little bit of nipping and jumping when she gets very excited, I would recommend a home with older children only. I would also recommend an owner who has dog experience in the past. Seren will make an amazing companion especially to an active household! We can’t wait to find her happily ever after!
