Meet Gary! Gary is your perfect mix of energetic and cuddly, he loves to stay busy doing things like walks, runs, hikes, puzzles or playing with his foster brother but when it comes to downtime Gary loves to be cuddled up with his people or on his comfy bed.
Gary always means well and is constantly trying to please but when he gets excited the excitment can get the better of him (He also loves cuddle breaks on walks to regroup). We have been working hard to train him and he has made so much progress!
Gary has done well with all the dogs he's met and has shown no signs of aggression. He loves people and has done really well with kids but due to his size and energy levels he would be better suited to live with older kids or no kids.

We've been working on Gary's leash training and he is doing amazing, once again his only issue is when he can't contain his excitement but he is only getting better!

Gary is potty trained and crate trained. Although he doesn't love being left alone he has made a lot of progress. We often leave Gary outside his kennel in our spare room and he is learning how to settle himself but sometimes needs a reminder to settle down. We have found playing music really calms him down and exercising him before we leave. He sleeps the whole night in our spare room and doesn't cry until he hears us get up on the morning. Gary really wants to please his people, and is quite smart. He is also food motivated which has helped in training him quickly. In the time he's been with us he has made so much progress and the more comfortable and confident he gets the more he will grow! Gary is a sweet heart, we can do anything to him and he doesn't react and we can take him anywhere and with a bit of guidance he does really well. We've taken him on hikes, long car rides, downtown, patios, adoption events, friends houses, and busy parks and he has done great in all settings! At home Gary can get bored and that's when he likes to get into trouble but with enough stimulation in the day he is a sweet calm guy.

Gary needs people who can create boundries and consistently work on his training but who also can adventure, exercise and cuddle with him daily. He does amazing living with our dog and loves playing with him so he would do great living with another dog especially if the dog also loves to play and they can burn their energy together

We have loved having Gary in our home, he brings us so much joy and we are excited to see him do the same in his forever home.
